Murder Mystery Masquerade Ball Recap
On Tuesday 30th of April, our MUN association hosted an unforgettable Murder Mystery Party with a thrilling theme: a Masquerade Ball sponsored by a rich family. The evening was filled with suspense, intrigue, and elaborate costumes, as members took on various personas to unravel the evening's mystery.
The Logans, a wealthy and influential family, invited guests to their opulent mansion for a grand masquerade ball. The night was meant to celebrate their newest family member, their daughter-in-law, who had recently married into the family. As the evening progressed, the joyous celebration took a dark turn. The new daughter-in-law was found dead under mysterious circumstances. Panic and whispers spread among the masked guests as they realized a murderer was in their midst.
Guests quickly took on detective roles, gathering clues and piecing together the puzzle. It was revealed that the young woman had many secrets, and so did the people around her. All participants delved into their characters, with hidden agendas and concealed motives adding layers of complexity to the investigation. After an intense round of questioning and clue-hunting, the true villain was unveiled. It was the bodyguard. In a shocking twist, it was discovered that he had been hired by the Illuminati, who had their own sinister reasons for eliminating the daughter-in-law.
We thank all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and creativity, making the Masquerade Ball Murder Mystery an event to remember.

Third Topic Block Recap
With the passing of last session of our third topic block of the semester we are bittersweetly able to mark the end of weekly sessions for this MUN year. Over the last three sessions we discussed the end of the Indonesian Revolution, a brutal conflict resulting in Indonesian independence from the Netherlands. The topic block took the format of a historical Security Council, taking place in January of 1949. The debate was fierce, with all sides harshly entrenched as events spun out of anyone's control and the old world began to die. We heard creative proposals such as the moving of Indonesia's population to the Falklands, but ultimately a resolution passed which provided a relatively gradual path to independence and even granted several adjacent European colonies to the future state. This surprised many of us who despaired for any solution, but the committee exceeded expectations. We wish to thank all of our delegates for a wonderful topic block, and particularly, we would like to congratulate Darius Niederer and Arkhip Lovin, the representatives of the Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia, who won best delegate for their excellent performance.
- Kai Schärer, Chair of the topic block
Irchelbar Recap
Tuesday the 7th of May, MUN Team UZH had the pleasure of co-hosting a vibrant and engaging event with the FVPolito at the popular Irchelbar. This joint event was a fantastic opportunity for members of both clubs to mingle, share ideas, and unwind in a relaxed atmosphere.
Irchelbar, known for its lively ambiance and excellent selection of beverages, provided the perfect backdrop for our gathering. The bar’s cosy yet energetic setting encouraged conversations and camaraderie among attendees.
The event facilitated meaningful interactions between members of both clubs. Participants exchanged insights about their respective fields, discussed current global issues, and explored potential collaborations for future events.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the FVPolito, the team at Irchelbar for making this event possible and all the people who were bartending. We look forward to many more collaborations and hope to see you all at our next event!
