Hello! My name is Francesca Peacey, and I am studying Political Science and Law. 2 years ago I joined the MUN Team UZH because I love to debate despite my fear of public speaking. However as I became part of this community I started to enjoy speaking in front of a room full of people. The weekly sessions are a safe, judgment-free zone which serves as a great space to practice holding and writing speeches. A great aspect of MUN is that the debate actually leads to a conclusion. Everybody tries to address different points and new arguments in the discussion and through compromise and negotiation we reach a satisfactory end to the debate.
Nevertheless, it is the people of MUN that make it such a fun experience. It wouldn’t be the same without welcoming members and formidable debate partners. For that reason I have taken on my board position to create more happy memories.
As your vice president for this year I will be assisting my fellow board members with their tasks. I wanted to take on this position to change the association for the better. I am looking forward to having a lot of new members this year and to fruitful debates!
